Travis Fish”JOSH SMITH/GIVENCHY”
(b. 1989, Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin) attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and has exhibited both nationally and internationally.
Travis Fish’s playful, brightly hued fan art paintings feature fashion, streetwear, and portraits of the popular rap trio, Migos. Fish received a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2012. He has had solo shows in Berlin and mounted his first solo exhibition in Asia in January 2021, titled “Photocopy Breakfast,” at Gana Art. Fish gains a great deal of inspiration from Instagram and often names his large acrylic works after popular fashion designers like Versace / Kith (2019) and LV/Dior (2021). Fish prioritizes spontaneity throughout his practice, trading clean lines for fluid edges and intentional “mistakes.”
His paintings have been included in exhibitions at Jupiter Contemporary, Miami; Gana Art, Seoul; Carl Kostyál, Stockholm; Duve, Berlin; Superzoom, Paris; CANADA, New York; and Eric Firestone Gallery, East Hampton; among others.
He currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
